حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، قَالَ: «مَاتَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فِي طَاعُونِ عَمْوَاسٍ، سَنَةَ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانٍ وَخَمْسِينَ سَنَةً، وَشَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِحْدَى وَأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، وَيُقَالُ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ»
Yahya bin Bukayr said: Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) died in the plague of Amwas in the year 18 AH, when he was fifty-eight (58) years old, and he took part in Badr at the age of forty-one (41). It is said that Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) led his funeral prayer.
