The narrator said: A man called Humamah, who was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), set out on a military campaign towards Isfahan during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and Isfahan was conquered. Humamah said: O Allah, Humamah claims that he loves to meet You. If he is truthful, then decree it for him on account of his truthfulness, and if he is lying, then decree it for him too, even if he dislikes it. The narrator said: Then a disease of the belly seized him and he died in Isfahan. Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O people! By Allah, according to what we heard from your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and as far as our knowledge reaches, Humamah is a martyr.
