Habis bin Rabiah al-Yamani (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3550 — The narrator states: On the day
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ الْقَطَوَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ، قَالَ: مَرَّ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ وَهُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَى الْأَشْتَرِ فَمَرَّ حَابِسٌ وَكَانَ حَابِسٌ مِنَ الْعِبَادِ فَقَالَ الْأَشْتَرُ: يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حَابِسٌ مَعَهُمْ عَهْدِي بِهِ وَاللهِ مُؤْمِنٌ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ: «فَهُوَ الْيَوْمَ مُؤْمِنٌ»
The narrator states: On the day of Siffin, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was leaning on al-Ashtar when Habis passed by, and Habis was one of the devout worshippers. Al-Ashtar said: O Commander of the Believers, Habis is with them; I know him, by Allah, to be a believer. Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Then he is still a believer today."
