حبيب بن مسلمة الفهري وهو حبيب بن مسلمة بن مالك بن وهب بن عمرو بن شيبان بن محارب بن فهر بن مالك وأمه فهرية، يكنى أبا عبد الرحمن وكان يدعى حبيب الروم لمجاهدته الروم
Habib bin Maslamah al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him): Habib bin Maslamah bin Malik bin Wahb bin Amr bin Shayban bin Muharib bin Fihr bin Malik; his mother was from Fihr; Abu Abd al-Rahman; he was called Habib al-Rum for his jihad against the Romans

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ جَارِيَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «يُنَفِّلُ فِي الْبَدْأَةِ الرُّبُعَ وَفِي الرَّجْعَةِ الثُّلُثَ»
Sayyiduna Habib bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give a quarter as nafl at the time of setting out, and a third at the time of returning.
