حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا فِرْدَوْسٌ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ ظَالِمٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْفِتَنَ، فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كُلُّ مَفْتُونٍ فِيهَا هَالِكٌ؟ قَالَ: «حَسْبُكُمُ الْقَتْلُ»
Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the trials, so we said: O Messenger of Allah! Will everyone who is caught up in them be destroyed? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Being killed is sufficient for you."
