Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 3114 — We heard a sound from the sky that fell

حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ أَبِي شَمْلَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ، قَالَ: «سَمِعْنَا صَوْتًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَقَعَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَأَنَّهُ صَوْتُ حَصَاةٍ فِي طَسْتٍ، وَرَمَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتِلْكَ الْحَصَاةِ فَانْهَزَمْنَا»
Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "We heard a sound from the sky that fell to the earth, as if it were the sound of a pebble (falling) into a basin, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) threw that pebble (at us), and we were defeated."
