حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي رَجُلٌ كُنْتُ أُسَافِرُ، فَأَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ؟ فَقَالَ: «إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): Hamzah al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I am a man who travels, so should I fast while travelling?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you wish, fast; and if you wish, break your fast."
