Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2743 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us

حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بُزُرْجَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نَلْبَسَ أَجْوَدَ مَا نَجِدُ، وَأَنْ نَتَطَيَّبَ بِأَجْوَدِ مَا نَجِدُ، وَأَنْ نُضَحِّيَ بِأَسْمَنِ مَا نَجِدُ، الْبَقَرَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ، وَالْجَزُورُ عَنْ عَشَرَةٍ، وَأَنْ نُظْهِرَ التَّكْبِيرَ وَعَلَيْنَا السَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ»
Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to wear the best clothing we could find, to apply the best perfume we could find, and to sacrifice the fattest animal we could find - a cow on behalf of seven people, and a camel on behalf of ten - and to proclaim the takbir aloud while tranquillity and dignity are upon us."
