حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا حُدَيْجُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهَا ابْنَانِ لَهَا، فَأَعْطَاهَا ثَلَاثَ تَمَرَاتٍ، فَأَعْطَتِ ابْنَيْهَا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا تَمْرَةً، فَأَكَلَا تَمْرَتَيْهِمَا، ثُمَّ جَعَلَا يَنْظُرَانِ إِلَى أُمِّهِمَا، فَشَقَّتْ تَمْرَتَهَا بِنِصْفَيْنِ بَيْنَهُمَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «قَدْ رَحِمَهَا اللهُ بِرَحْمَتِهَا ابْنَيْهَا»
Shaqiq bin Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and with her were two sons of hers. He (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her three dates. She gave each of her two sons a date, and both of them ate their dates. Then they began to look at their mother, so she divided her own date into two halves and gave it to the two of them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has had mercy on her because of her mercy towards her two sons."
