حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، ثنا عَطِيَّةُ الْعَوْفِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ: نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي بَيْتِي: {إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا} [الأحزاب: ٣٣] ، وَهِيَ جَالِسَةٌ عَلَى الْبَابِ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَسْتُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ؟ قَالَ: «أَنْتِ إِلَى خَيْرٍ»
Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: This verse was revealed in my house: "Allah only wishes to remove all impurity from you, O members of the household (Ahl al-Bayt), and to purify you thoroughly" [Surah al-Ahzab: 33]. And she (Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her) was sitting at the door, and I said: O Messenger of Allah, am I not one of the household? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are headed towards good."
