حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَقَّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the aqiqah on behalf of Sayyiduna al-Hasan and Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both).
