Dawud bin Yazid al-Awdi from al-Shabi from Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2353 — the Prophet ﷺ said: When a slave runs

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْأَعْرَجُ، ثنا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا دَاوُدُ الْأَوْدِيُّ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ فَلَحِقَ بِالْعَدُوِّ فَمَاتَ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a slave runs away and joins the enemy, and dies in that state, he dies a disbeliever."
