Lineage of al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him): al-Zubayr bin al-Awwam bin Khuwaylid bin Asad bin Abd al-Uzza bin Qusayy bin Kilab bin Murrah bin Ka'b bin Lu'ayy bin Ghalib bin Fihr bin Malik; his kunyah was Abu Abdullah, and his mother Safiyyah bint Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with her) was the paternal aunt of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، قَالَ: " لَمَّا كَانَ الْيَرْمُوكُ، قَالُوا لِلزُّبَيْرِ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ "
Hisham bin Urwah said: When the Battle of Yarmuk took place, the people said to al-Zubayr: O Abu Abdullah!
