حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْأَوْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ: «اجْتَمَعَ جَرِيرٌ، وَالْأَشْعَثُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَقَدَّمَ الْأَشْعَثُ جَرِيرًا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا»
Qays bin Abi Hazim said: Sayyiduna Jarir and al-Ash'ath bin Qays (may Allah be pleased with them both) were together at a funeral, and al-Ash'ath put Jarir forward, so he led the funeral prayer.
