حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: طَلَعَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَطْلُعُ عَلَيْكُمْ خَيْرُ ذِي يُمْنٍ عَلَيْهِ مَسْحَةُ مَلَكٍ» فَطَلَعَ جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came. Before that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had said: "There is about to come upon you the best man of Yemen, upon whom is the radiance of an angel." Then Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came.
