Sayyidah Umm Qays bint Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with her), who was among the first Muhajir women who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), narrated that she brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a son of hers who had not yet reached the age of eating food, and she had pressed his throat because of a throat-gland swelling. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why do you torment your children by pressing their throats like this? Make use of this Indian wood, that is, qust, for in it there is healing for seven diseases, one of which is pleurisy (dhat al-janb)." Ubaydullah said: Then Umm Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) told me that her son urinated in the lap of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) called for water and poured it over his urine, and he did not wash it.
