باب من يعرف من النساء بالكنى لمن لم ينته إلينا أسماؤهن ممن لهن صحبة فمنهن أم كلثوم بنت عقبة بن أبي معيط امرأة عبد الرحمن بن عوف — ما أسندت أم أيوب
Chapter: Women known by their kunyahs whose names have not reached us, among the female Companions; among them is Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) — Reports Umm Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي خَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ أَيُّوبَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهَا، قَالَتْ: فَصَنَعْنَا لَهُ طَعَامًا فِيهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْبُقُولِ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: الْكُرَّاثُ وَغَيْرُهُ فَكَرِهَهُ، وَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: «كُلُوا فَإِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ، إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ أُؤْذِيَ صَاحِبِيَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed with them. She said: We prepared food for him (peace and blessings be upon him) that contained these vegetables (leeks and the like), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked it, and said to his companions: "You eat, for I am not like you; I fear that I would cause harm to my companion (the angel)."
