حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ أُمَّ عَطِيَّةَ هَلِ سَمِعْتِ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي فِي الْمَرْأَةِ لَا يَكُونُ لَهَا جِلْبَابٌ هَلْ تَشَهْدُ الْعِيدَ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ بِأَبِي، وَكَانَتْ إِذَا حَدَّثَتْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: بِأَبِي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «أَخْرِجُوا الْعَوَاتِقَ، وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ، فَلْيَشْهَدْنَ الْعِيدَ، وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَيَعْتَزِلْنَ الْحُيَّضُ مُصَلًّى الْمُسْلِمِينَ»
Hafsah bint Sirin (may Allah have mercy on her) said: I asked Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her): Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? That is, regarding the woman who has no outer cloak, should she attend the Eid? She said: Yes, may my father be sacrificed for him. Whenever she narrated anything from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), she would say: May my father be sacrificed for him, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Bring out the young unmarried girls and the women kept in seclusion, so that they may attend the Eid and the supplication of the Muslims, and let the menstruating women keep away from the prayer-ground."
