حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ زُرَيْقِ الرَّاسِبِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ آمِنَةَ بِنْتِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ يَأْكُلُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ؟ قَالَ: لَا يَأْكُلُ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ، قَالَتْ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ يَرْقُدُ الْجُنُبُ؟ قَالَ: «مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْقُدَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ حَتَّى يَتَوَضَّأَ، وَيُحْسِنَ وُضُوءَهُ، وَإِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يُتَوَفَّى، فَلَا يَحْضُرُهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ»
Sayyidah Maymunah bint Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah, may one of us eat while in a state of major impurity? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He should not eat until he performs ablution." I said: O Messenger of Allah, may a person in a state of major impurity sleep? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not like that he should sleep while in a state of major impurity until he performs ablution and performs his ablution well, for I fear that he may die and Jibril (peace be upon him) would not attend him."
