حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، عَنْ فُرَيْعَةَ بِنْتِ مَالِكٍ - قَالَ حَمَّادٌ: وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ - أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا خَرَجَ فِي طَلَبِ غُلَامٍ لَهُ فَقُتِلَ بِطَرَفِ الْقُدُومِ، فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَأْذَنَتْهُ أَنْ تَنْتَقِلَ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا، فَأَذِنَ لَهَا، فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَتْ نَادَاهَا، فَقَالَ: «امْكُثِي فِي بَيْتِكِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Furay'ah bint Malik (may Allah be pleased with her) that her husband went out in search of a slave of his and was killed at Taraf al-Qadum. So she came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked permission to move to her own family, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission; but when she turned to leave, he (peace and blessings be upon him) called out to her and said: "Remain in your house until the waiting period ('iddah) is completed."
