حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنٍ لِكَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، حَدَّثَتْنِي عَمَّتِي، وَكَانَتْ أُخْتَ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ فُرَيْعَةَ بِنْتَ مَالِكٍ حَدَّثَتْهَا، «أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا خَرَجَ فِي طَلَبِ أَعْلَاجٍ أُبَّاقٍ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِطَرَفِ الْقُدُومِ - وَهُوَ جَبَلٌ - أَدْرَكَهُمْ فَقَتَلُوهُ، فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَذَكَرَتْ لَهُ أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا قُتِلَ، وَأَنَّهُ تَرَكَهَا فِي مَسْكَنٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ، وَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ فِي الِانْتِقَالِ، فَأَذِنَ لَهَا، فَانْطَلَقَتْ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَتْ بِبَابِ الْحُجْرَةِ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُدَّتْ، وَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تُعِيدَ عَلَيْهِ حَدِيثَهَا، فَفَعَلَتْ، وَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ لَا تَخْرُجَ مِنْ بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ مَحِلَّهُ»
Sayyidah Furay'ah bint Malik (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that her husband went out in search of runaway slaves, until, when he reached Taraf al-Qadum (a mountain), he caught up with those slaves, and those slaves killed him. So she came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him (peace and blessings be upon him) that her husband had been killed and had left her in a house that was not his (the husband's) property, and she asked permission to move (from there), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission. She set off, until, when she reached the door of the room, he (peace and blessings be upon him) had her called back and ordered her to repeat her account, which she did. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her not to leave her husband's house until the waiting period ('iddah) was completed.
