حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِرْقٍ، وَعَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، قَالَا: ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ الشِّفَاءِ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا أَسْأَلُهُ، فَجَعَلَ يَعْتَذِرُ إِلَيَّ وَأَنَا أَلُومُهُ، فَحَضَرْتُ الظُّهْرَ، فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى دَخَلَتْ عَلَيَّ ابْنَتِي وَهِيَ تَحْتَ شُرَحْبِيلِ بْنِ حَسَنَةَ، فَوَجَدْتُ شُرَحْبِيلَ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَجَعَلْتُ أَلُومُهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا جَارِيَةُ لَا تَلُومِينِي، فَإِنَّهُ «كَانَ لِي ثَوْبٌ اسْتَعَارَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» فَقُلْتُ: بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي كُنْتُ أَلُومُهُ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمَ، وَهَذِهِ حَالُهُ، وَلَا أَشْعُرُ
Sayyidah al-Shifa' bint Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: One day I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to ask him for (something), and he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) began apologising to me while I began reproaching him ((peace and blessings be upon him)). Then the time of Zuhr came, so I left and went to my daughter, who was married to Shurahbil bin Hasanah (may Allah be pleased with him). I found Shurahbil in the house, so I began reproaching him. He said: O daughter, do not reproach me; I had a garment which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has borrowed. I said: May my father and mother be sacrificed for him ((peace and blessings be upon him)); I have been reproaching him ((peace and blessings be upon him)) all day, and this is his ((peace and blessings be upon him)) condition, and I did not even know.
