حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى بِقَوْمٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ، قَالَ: نَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْتَأْمِرَكُمْ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَتَقَدَّمَكُمْ أَفَرِضِيتُمْ بِصَلَاتِي؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، وَمَنْ يَكْرَهُ ذَلِكَ يَا حَوَارِيَّ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ أَمَّ قَوْمًا وَهُمْ لَهُ كَارِهُونَ لَمْ تَجُزْ صَلَاتُهُ أُذُنَهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he led a group of people in prayer. When he finished the prayer, he said: I forgot to ask your permission before stepping forward to lead you; are you pleased with my prayer? The people said: Yes, and who would dislike that, O disciple of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever leads a people in prayer while they dislike him, his prayer does not go beyond his ears."
