Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2083 — he said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ رِشْدِينَ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ جَارِيَةَ بْنِ قُدَامَةَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قُلْ لِي قَوْلًا يَنْفَعُنِي وَاقْلِلْ لَعَلِّي أَعْقِلُهُ قَالَ: «لَا تَغْضَبْ» فَعَادَ لَهُ مِرَارًا كُلَّ ذَلِكَ يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «لَا تَغْضَبْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jariyah bin Qudamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me something that will benefit me, and keep it brief so that I can understand it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not become angry." He repeated his request several times, and each time the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said the same: "Do not become angry."
