حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْبَرَاءِ، ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَلِيَّ خَوَاتِيمُ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَسِوَارٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقَالَ: «أَيَسُرُّكِ أَنْ يَخْتِمُكِ اللهُ بِخَاتَمٍ مِنْ نَارٍ، ويُسَوِّرُكِ بِسِوَارٍ مِنْ نَارٍ؟» فَتَرَكْتُهُ، وَقَالَ: «أَتَعْجَزُ إِحْدَاكُنَّ أَنْ تَتَّخِذَ حَلْقَةً مِنْ فِضَّةٍ فَتَلْطَخُ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الزَّعْفَرَانِ وَالْعَنْبَرِ وَالْوَرْسِ؟»
Sayyidah Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me while I was wearing gold rings and a gold bracelet on my hands. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Would it please you that Allah should put on you a ring of fire and a bracelet of fire?" So I removed it. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Is any one of you unable to make a ring of silver and then smear it with saffron, ambergris and wars?"
