Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20701 — whenever a woman suffering from fever
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ الْمُنْذِرِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ إِذَا أُتِيَتْ بِالْمَرْأَةِ قَدْ حُمَّتْ دَعَتْ بِالْمَاءِ فَسَكَبَتْهُ عَلَيْهِ وَبَيْنَ جَنْبَيْهَا، وَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُبَرِّدَ بِالْمَاءِ وَقَالَ: «إِنَّهَا مِنْ فَحِيحِ جَهَنَّمَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that whenever a woman suffering from fever was brought to her, she would call for water and pour it over her and between her sides, and she would say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to cool it with water and said: "It is from the hissing (steam) of the heat of Hell."
