Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him), the freed slave of Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her), relates that on the night of Muzdalifah, when she had alighted near Muzdalifah and was praying, Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O my son! Has the moon set? I said: No. So she prayed for a while, then said: O my son! Has the moon set? He said: And the moon had set. I said: Yes. She said: Then set off. So we set off, and we went on with her until she threw pebbles at the Jamrah. Then she returned and prayed the Fajr prayer at her lodging. I said to her: O respected lady! You have prayed very early (in the darkness)! She said: "O my son! The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission to the women in howdahs (to go ahead early)."
