Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2057 — I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: After me there

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اللَّيْثِ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ فَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ فَسَأَلْتُ الَّذِي يَلِيَنِي، فَقَالَ: «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "After me there will be twelve leaders (amirs)." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said something that was hidden from me, so I asked the person sitting beside me, and he told me: "All of them will be from Quraysh."
