Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20442 — I heard Maymunah say: I freed my slave

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ، ثنا أَبِي، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ كُرَيْبًا، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ، تَقُولُ: أَعْتَقْتُ وَلِيدَتِي فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «لَوْ أُعْطِيتِهَا أَخْوَالَكِ كَانَ أَعْظَمَ لِأَجْرِكِ»
A mawla of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I heard Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) say: I freed my slave girl in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Had you given her to your maternal relatives, it would have been greater in reward for you."
