حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُهُ أَوْتِرُ بِثَلَاثٍ، ثُمَّ أَخْرُجُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تَفُوتَنِي، فَقَالَ: «لَا يَصْلُحُ إِلَّا بِخَمْسٍ أَوْ سَبْعٍ» فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَمَّنْ؟ فَقَالَ: عَنِ الثِّقَةِ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Al-Hakam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked Miqsam (may Allah have mercy on him): I pray witr with three rak'ahs, then I go out to the prayer for fear of missing it. He said: "It is only valid with five or seven rak'ahs." So I asked: From whom is this narrated? He said: From a trustworthy narrator, from Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
