Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20213 — she said: O Messenger of Allah, the sons

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ بَنِي أَبِي سَلَمَةَ فِي حِجْرِي، وَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا مَا أَنْفَقْتُ، فَلِي أَجْرٌ إِنْ أَنْفَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ؟، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَنْفِقِي عَلَيْهِمْ، فَلَكِ أَجْرُ مَا أَنْفَقْتِ عَلَيْهِمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "O Messenger of Allah, the sons of Abu Salamah are under my care, and they have nothing except what I spend on them; will I have a reward for spending on them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Spend on them, and you will have the reward for whatever you spend on them."
