Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19936 — Sayyidah Umm Salamah narrated to us

Ali bin Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated to us that one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking a midday rest in her house, and one of his Companions was with him; they were talking among themselves when a man came and said: O Messenger of Allah, how much zakah is due on such-and-such an amount of dates? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Such-and-such." The man said: So-and-so wronged me and took from me such-and-such an amount of dates, and he took a sa' more. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Then how will it be when someone who wrongs you even more than this comes to you to collect zakah?" The people began to reflect deeply on this matter, and it weighed heavily on them, until one of them said: O Messenger of Allah, how will it be when a man is far from you among his camels, his livestock and his crops, and he pays the zakah of his wealth, and then he is wronged in what is due; what should he do while he is far from you? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever pays the zakah of his wealth willingly, seeking by it the pleasure of Allah and the abode of the Hereafter, and does not conceal anything of his wealth, and establishes the prayer, then pays the zakah, and then he is wronged in what is due, so he takes up a weapon and fights and is killed, he is a martyr."
