Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1973 — Sayyiduna Jabir relates: Whenever food

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: Whenever food was given to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would eat from it and then send what was left of it to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). Once he (peace and blessings be upon him) was given as a gift food that had garlic in it, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent it to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) and did not eat any of it. When Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) did not find in the food the trace of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) having eaten, he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked about it, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I left it only because of its smell." Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Then I too dislike what you dislike.
