Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man's mule died, so he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to ask for a ruling. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to its owner: "Do you not have any other means of sustenance besides it?" He said: No. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and eat it."
