حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ بَيَانٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: كُلُّ أُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ عَائِشَةَ، فَقُلْتُ: «أَمَّا أَنْتَ فَقَدْ خَالَفْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هِيَ كَانَتْ أَحَبَّهُنَّ إِلَيْهِ»
Amir al-Sha'bi relates: A man said: All the Mothers of the Believers are more beloved to me than Sayyidah Aishah. I said: You have certainly opposed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); she was the most beloved of them all to him (peace and blessings be upon him).
