حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، «أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَلْعَبُ بِالْبَنَاتِ - يَعْنِي اللُّعَبِ - عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكُنَّ صَوَاحِبِي يَجِئْنَ فَيَنْقَمِعْنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُسَرِّبُهُنَّ فَيَلْعَبْنَ مَعِي»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she used to play with dolls, meaning toys, in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). My friends would come and, out of shyness, hide from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would bring them out (from their hiding place) and send them in, and they would play with me.
