It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, O Aishah, it is not hidden from me when you are pleased or when you are angry." I said: "May my father and mother be ransomed for you, O Messenger of Allah! How do you know that?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are pleased, you say while swearing: 'No, by the Lord of Muhammad!' And when you are angry, you say: 'No, by the Lord of Ibrahim!'" I said: "You have spoken the truth, O Messenger of Allah!"
The same is also narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) through another chain; she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, O Aishah, it is not hidden from me when you are pleased and when you are angry." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, how do you know that?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are pleased with me and you swear, you say: 'No, by the Lord of Muhammad!' And when you are angry and you swear, you say: 'No, by the Lord of Ibrahim!'" I said: "You have spoken the truth, by the One in whose Hand is my soul! I only leave off your name (not you in my heart)."
The same is also narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) through a third chain; she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "I know when you are pleased and when you are angry." I said: "How is that?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are pleased, you say: 'No, by the Lord of Muhammad!' And when you are angry, you say: 'No, by the Lord of Ibrahim!'" I said: "I only leave off your name."
