وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِجَابِرٍ: أَكُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ كَانَ طَوِيلَ الصَّمْتِ»
Simak bin Harb said: I asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): Did you use to sit in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: "Yes; he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to remain silent for long periods."
