Aishah bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with them both), wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (he gave her the kunyah Umm Abdullah after Abdullah bin al-Zubayr; the mother of Aishah and her brother Abd al-Rahman was Umm Ruman bint Amir bin Uwaymir bin Abd Shams bin Abd Manaf bin Udhaynah bin Subay' bin Dahman bin al-Harith bin Abd bin Malik)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْبَاطِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ، قَالَ: «كَنَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَائِشَةَ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ لَهَا»
Hisham bin Urwah narrates from some of his companions: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) a kunyah, although no child was ever born to her.
