Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19249 — The first to be born to the Messenger

Zubayr bin Bakkar (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The first to be born to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was Qasim, who was his (peace and blessings be upon him) eldest child, then Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her). He said: Sayyidah Zaynab bint Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) was married to Abu al-As bin al-Rabi' bin Abd al-Uzza bin Abd Shams, and Sayyidah Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) bore him Ali and Umamah. Ali was being nursed among Banu Ghadirah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took him away, while his father was at that time a polytheist, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is a partner with me in something, I have the greater right to it; and whenever a disbeliever is a partner with a Muslim in something, the Muslim has the greater right to it." Zubayr bin Bakkar said: Umar bin Abi Bakr al-Mu'ammili told me that Ali bin Abi al-As bin al-Rabi', the son of Sayyidah Zaynab bint Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) (may Allah be pleased with her), died close to puberty, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had seated him behind himself on his mount on the day of the Conquest of Makkah.
