حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي خَلَّادٍ وَكَانَتْ، لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الرَّجُلَ الْمُؤْمِنَ قَدْ أُعْطِيَ زُهْدًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَقِلَّةَ مَنْطِقٍ فَاقْتَرِبُوا مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ تَلَقَّى الْحِكْمَةَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Khallad (may Allah be pleased with him), who had the honour of companionship, said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you see a believing man who has been given detachment from the world and few words, then draw near to him, for he has been taught wisdom."
