حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْأَيَادِيُّ، قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ حُجْرِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ قَالَ: أَقْبَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ حَتَّى أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ وَعِنْدَهُ خَلْقٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا تُعْطِيَنِي شَيْئًا أَتَعَلَّمُهُ وَأَحْمِلُهُ وَيَنْفَعُنِي وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ؟، فَقَالَ النَّاسُ: مَهِ اجْلِسْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «دَعُوهُ فَإِنَّمَا سَأَلَ الرَّجُلُ لِيَعْلَمَ» ، قَالَ: فَأَفْرَجُوا لَهُ حَتَّى جَلَسَ، قَالَ: أَيُّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ أَوَّلَ أَمْرِ نُبُوَّتِكَ، قَالَ: " أَخَذَ اللهُ مِنِّي الْمِيثَاقَ كَمَا أَخَذَ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينِ مِيثَاقَهُمْ ثُمَّ تَلَا {وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينِ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُوحٍ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَمُوسَى، وَعِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُمْ مِيثَاقًا غَلِيظًا} [الأحزاب: ٧] . وَبَشَّرَ بِي الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَرَأَتْ أُمَّ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَنَامِهَا أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْنِ رِجْلَيْهَا سِرَاجٌ أَضَاءَتْ لَهُ قُصُورُ الشَّامِ "، فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: هَاهِ وَأَدْنَى مِنْهُ رَأْسَهُ وَكَانَ فِي سَمْعِهِ شَيْءٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَوَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ»
Sayyiduna Abu Maryam (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A Bedouin came until he reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who (peace and blessings be upon him) was seated with a crowd of people around him (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: Will you not give me something that I may learn and retain, which will benefit me and not harm you? The people said: Be quiet, sit down. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave him, this man is only asking in order to learn." He said: So they made room for him until he sat down. He asked: What was the first thing at the beginning of your prophethood? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty took from me the same covenant that He took from the other prophets." Then he recited this verse: "And when We took from the prophets their covenant, and from you, and from Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa and Isa son of Maryam, and We took from them a solemn covenant" [Surah al-Ahzab: 7]. "And the Messiah, son of Maryam, gave glad tidings of me, and the mother of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw in her dream that a lamp came out from between her feet by which the palaces of Syria were lit up." The Bedouin said: Hah! And he brought his head close to him (peace and blessings be upon him), because there was some weakness in his hearing. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And there is much more besides that."
