حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْأَعْرَجُ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْخَبَائِرِيُّ قَالَا: ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ صَائِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ الْغَسَّانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ: «غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَفَعَ إِلَيَّ اللِّوَاءَ وَرَمَيْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِالْجَنْدَلِ فَأَعْجَبَهُ ذَلِكَ وَدَعَا لِي»
Sayyiduna Abu Maryam al-Ghassani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I went on an expedition with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) handed me the banner, and I hurled stones in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) was pleased with that and he (peace and blessings be upon him) made du'a for me.
