Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1899 — from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah that he

Simak narrates from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "The muezzin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would call the adhan, then wait and not call the iqamah until, when he saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had come out, he would call the iqamah for the prayer as soon as he saw him."
