Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1876 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was staying

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was staying in the house of Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). Whenever food was brought to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ate from it, he would send what was left to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). Once food was brought to him (peace and blessings be upon him) that contained garlic, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not eat any of it and sent it to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) did not eat from it, because he did not see the trace of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in it. Then he came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about it, saying: "O Messenger of Allah, is it unlawful?" He said: "No, but I disliked it because of its smell." He said: "Then I too dislike what you (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked."
