حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَنْصُورَ بْنَ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا دَاوُدَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَمْرَاءِ، يَقُولُ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتِي بَابَ عَلِيٍّ وَفَاطِمَةَ سِتَّةَ أَشْهُرٍ، فَيَقُولُ: «إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Hamra' (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) come to the door of Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with them both) for six months, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: "O People of the Household, Allah only wishes to remove impurity from you and to purify you thoroughly." [Surah al-Ahzab: 33]
