حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ هاني أَبُو مَالِكٍ: أَنَّهُ «قَدِمَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ فَدَعَاهُ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَأَسْلَمَ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَدَعَا لَهُ بِالْبَرَكَةَ وَأَنْزَلَهُ عَلَى يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ» فَلَمَّا جَهَّزَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْجَيْشَ إِلَى الشَّامِ خَرَجَ مَعَهُمْ فَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ
It is reported about Sayyiduna Hani Abu Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came from Yemen to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) invited him to Islam and he became Muslim. He (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over his head, supplicated for blessing for him, and lodged him with Yazid bin Abi Sufyan. Then, when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) prepared the army for Syria, he set out with them and did not return.
