Abu Qilabah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: Sayyiduna Hisham bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) came to Basrah and saw that the people were selling gold among themselves on credit in their stipends. So he stood up and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling gold for silver on credit, and he informed us that this is usury (riba)."
This is the wording of the narration of Sulayman bin Harb.
