حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ يَرَى رِجَالًا يَتَخَطُّونَهُ إِلَى عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ وَإِلَى غَيْرِهِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّكُمْ تَتَخَطُّونَ إِلَى رِجَالٍ لَمْ يَكُونُوا أَحْضَرَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنِّي وَلَا أَدْعَى لِحَدِيثِهِ مِنِّي، وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «مَا بَيْنَ خَلْقِ آدَمَ إِلَى أَنَّ تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ فِتْنَةٌ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ»
Humayd bin Hilal (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Hisham bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) would see some people pass him by and go to Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn and to other Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he would say: You pass me by and go to men who were not more often present with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) than I was, nor more knowledgeable of his hadith than I. And I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "From the creation of Adam (peace be upon him) until the establishment of the Hour, there is no trial greater than the trial of the Dajjal."
