حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّهْمَاءِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «احْفِرُوا وَأَحْسِنُوا وَأَوْسِعُوا وَادْفِنُوا الِاثْنَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةَ فِي قَبْرٍ، وَقَدِّمُوا أَكْثَرَهُمْ قُرْآنًا» فَقُدِّمَ أَبِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَجُلَيْنِ، زَادَ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ فِي إِسْنَادِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَبَا الدَّهْمَاءِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hisham bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Dig the graves, make them well and wide, and bury two or three in one grave, and place in front the one of them who knew the most Qur'an." So my father was placed in front of two men.
